WHAT IS A DIGITAL SIGNATURE?

The digital signature is a cryptographic mechanism that serves to authenticate the digital information. It uses cryptography public-key mechanism, and for this reason this type of signature is also called a public-key digital signature.

The electronic signature provides an effective means of ensuring the authenticity and integrity of any document during its useful life . The importance of the electronic signature was emphasized in the Recommendation No. 35 of the UNECE/UN – Establishing a Legal Framework for a Single Window for International Trade.
